I will try to make this group of courses justice to try to give my opinion and my experience of all of them. As most golfers know this are 8 courses, which most golfers would kill to get to play. I wasn’t one of them until the trip started. Our intention was to play the East Lake in Atlanta the first day but due to a delayed flight from Spain we missed the plane in London and had to cancel East Lake. Not to worry since we had a nice relaxing start of the golf trip and we heading of to Augusta and to Sage Valle the next morning after we arrived to Atlanta.
First course on our trip was the very famous Sage Valley in Augusta. After having one of my caddies working as caddie on this course for many years and telling me a lots of stories of the course my expectations was high and luckily as always in the US I wasn’t let down by either the set up of the course or the condition. As a typical course with a lots of threes in an amazing nature Sage Valley showed us what golf in the US is all about. Quite generous of the tee with very tricky greens in perfect condition made us all wanted to come back soon. My favorite holes must be the par 3 second and the very difficult par 4 17th where you are demanded to hit perfect shots to be able to get a chance decent chance to make a par or a birdie. What impressed me most in Sage Valle is the nature around the course. It is quiet and it is also magic environment with professional caddies on the bag. I was lucky to have a guy who walked for Seve Ballesteros during the Masters and carried in the Masters for about 25 times. An old colored man with a great sense of humor. Conclusion of Sage Valle is that you have to play it if you get a chance. We went straight after the round to our house in Champions Retreat where we got the Hogan Lodge. I now started to realize what I was about to experience.
To be continued and if you need help to improve or tips where to travel or help to arrange and event or golf trip or even play with a professional over a weekend to improve your game or in a Pro Am around the world please send me an email.
Best regards
